Banks must give employees access to sensitive systems to do their jobs. This necessary trust environment is exactly what insiders exploit. You cannot eliminate the vulnerability without eliminating the functionality.
The insider started with small thefts that felt thrilling. Over time, the thrill faded and larger thefts were needed to produce the same excitement, eventually leading to detection.
